FBI, Marines, Pilot among Professions Represented at Career Cafe
CMS students had the opportunity to learn about a smorgasbord of potential career options at the school’s Career Café on Tuesday.
Professionals who call Commack and neighboring communities home manned tables in the gymnasium to speak with students who strolled from booth to booth.
Among the professions represented: law enforcement, real estate, law, education, sports, military, health care, mental health, physical fitness, entertainment and the food industry.
The FBI table drew particular interest, with students able to try on a protective vest and helmet and hold handcuffs.
The guests also included Commack Schools board trustee Susan Hermer, who represented the legal profession.
Suffolk County police officers Brittany Ciaramitaro and Robert Jinks as well as members of the Marines were on hand.
Other representatives included physician assistant Thomas Armocida, insurance agent/owner Joe Bonura, emergency medicine physician Robert Bramante, CPA Noel Darvassy, physical therapists Nicole de la Torre and Jen Hajek, musician (and CHS counselor) Jim DelGuidice, school counselors Jeff DiLorenzo, Francesca Calobrisi and Tessa Karikas, optometrist Kimberly Ferraro, construction project manager John Gennawey, dentist Bonnie Heffner, social workers Karen Klingman and Amanda Schleisner, athletic trainer Theresa Knips, coach/teacher Tracie Morenberg, teacher Donna Phillips, executive director of IT Alise Pulliam and pilot Robert Semprini.
