CMS Inducts 162 into NJHS
The newest inductees into the National Junior Honor Society were recognized inside the CMS auditorium on Tuesday night.
The ceremony recognized 162 eighth-graders for their high academic achievements coupled with their community service and extracurricular involvement.
The event included a candle-lighting ceremony, congratulatory remarks from principal Dr. Michael Larson, addresses from NJHS president Samuel C. and CHS National Honor Society president Ishana C., and a performance from the CMS flute ensemble, which performed “Scarborough Fair.”
“You have demonstrated you are a pivotal member of the community,” Ishana told the inductees while reminiscing on her own experience at CMS.
The National Junior Honor Society is the middle school equivalent of the high school National Honor Society. Selection to the organization is based on the noble attributes of scholarship, leadership, service, citizenship and character.
