CMS Hosts Breakfast for New Students
CMS wants to ensure that students new to the district have a smooth transition.
So the counseling center and middle school administration hosted a welcome breakfast for students whose families are new to Commack on Wednesday morning.
The counseling center will host monthly gatherings of the new students to address their questions and share opportunities to be involved.
Upcoming monthly activities will include a bus tour of the community as well as a scavenger hunt.
Assistant principal Amy Martin told the new students about the more than 40 clubs that are available — everything from Legos, to robotics, to art and cooking.
The breakfast organizers also shared info about the counseling center.
The breakfast also provided an opportunity for the new students to meet each other and share their backgrounds.
